Yes
I'm going on honeymoon next month and I wanted to get a decent underwater camera. I'd pretty much decided on the Olympus TG-2 but then then TG-3 just got released.

However, the UK price seems a bit ridiculous (£350 on Amazon). I wondered if anyone had one yet and whether they'd recommend it over the TG-2 and also if anyone could suggest the best place to buy it from? I don't mind a grey import if it gets the price down but I assume it's that expensive everywhere.

I had a similar problem when a TG-2 was on my list, the price weighed in more than I wanted to spend for such a camera so ended up getting the TG-830 for £135 as I could take or leave the little extras compared.

looks like your'e still looking at £200-£210 for a TG-2, buyacamera.co.uk (uk2000direct on eBay) look the cheapest

Yeah, I could probably justify £200 given it's a once in a lifetime thing but £350 feels like it's pushing it a bit especially as it wouldn't be my main camera and really only for snorkeling, etc.

I tried Panamoz and they can't get hold of the TG-2 or TG-3 :-(

sounds like you are in the same position as me with a higher budget, only ever needed for underwater every other situation its a different camera.. although I have been impressed with the super macro, panarama, fake tilt shift and the awesome 120fps @ 720p, and of course it is good knowing you can shoot with something should the heavens open..

I am not seeing anything of worth between the 3 and the 2, if the 3 had a flippy screen fair enough but they seem the have put that in the 850 but not the 3 :sulk:

I reckon if you had both 2 and 3 to test you would not see where the extra £150 was justified, there are some chinese importers on eBay selling the 3 at £254 but you take your chance, I guess you are covered with Paypal if it goes south, personally I wouldn't be going for it.
