any body had a look at the Olympus XZ-1
i am looking for a decent high end compact and this looks like it could fit the bill
end of january release date but if i want one it will be delayed :(
 
From what i have heard the image quality isn't that great but it's only what i have heard. Have a buzz round the net and see what people are saying. Also check out you tube as there are a could video's on there worth watching.

i nearly went for your s95 then a lx5
then i start thinking maybe better off with an entry level dslr :bonk: i hate choosing a camera
 
Well i have had the s90 and s95 and they are surprisingly good for such a tiny camera and feel very well made. The LX5 is a continuation of a legend! Never had one myself but love Lumix cameras

I had a TZ6 which was what got me interested in photography and i wanted the same camera but with manual controls. 3 years later and i have spent a fortune on cameras and lenses. If the GF1 came out when i was upgrading i would have been happy with that! It's now time to stop and just buy very high quality glass for the 500D and E-PL2 and enjoy the results!

Have you looked at Micro 4/3? There are a couple GF1's in the for sale section. You can add lenses and use old SLR lenses too plus the image quality with the right lenses is superb!! and you don't get the bulk of a DSLR and they look cool!!! :D

yes i have looked at the micro 4/3 as well
i do like the look of the gf1 but the lenses seem quite expensive and for the cost i may as well have stuck with my 550d
 
I have downloaded the test shots and the lx5 and s95 ones seem better

Such a superb looking design, the lens is super fast, I hope it's sharp wide open. If it's any good I would consider it.
 
Have a look at the test shots above, tehy're amost all taken wide open, as opposed to at F4 for the S95.
