On the fence.

[Marc]

Sitting in a cafe in Oxford this lunchtime and a group of peole walked in and sat down. One of them puts a Nikon camera down on the table (A D80 I think, but wouldn't swear to it). Thing is, I then notice the lens cap says...........................................................................................................................Canon!

Could he not make his mind up? Would a Canon cap fit a Nikon lens? Would a Canon lens fit a Nikon Camera? Was I in the Twilight Zone?

Apparently the opposite is much more common - the nikon centre-pinch caps are thought to be superior to the canon ones by some.

Removing a cap with the hood in place is easier with a centre pinch such as Nikon or 3rd party lens caps

I used to be dead chuffed with the Nikon lens cap I put on my Praktica lenses ....

It's a well known trick designed to confused the simple souls that are Sony users

my canon ones are pinch caps, god knows why you'd choose to use an OEM canon one though
