No
Apeture or shutter speed setting.

Which is best? going to the circuit of ireland tomorrow:)

In my experience, shutter priority for most things, especially when you want to pan and get a bit of motion in the shot. On tar, depending on what sort of shot you're doing I'd say start at 1/400th and work down?

Personally, i tend to use 1/320th at f/6.3 as a base, and then adjust the ISO to suit in the conditions ... or when i want to get a better DOF, i change the aperture ... i often end up shooting on f/2.8 if the light isn't too bright!
But obviously, it'll depend how bright/dull the weather is out there ... typical grim Ireland conditions, would probably see you around 1/320th at f/6.3 @ ISO800 ... but if it's bright you could see yourself down to ISO100 at times.
Only advice, get to your spot early and have a play and find settings that you feel comfortable with

Cheers,

thanks guys ! is there much use for a monopod as i have just broken mine

Only time i ever use a monopod is with a 300mm shooting very long distances, everything hand hell other than that :)
