Wonderfully sharp endearing picture of the "Tree Rat" which we hate to love as they are so entertaining.

Its a good photo, sharp, captured at eye level to the squirrel and with him/her? facing into some open space. Background has been thrown out of focus nicely although there are still a few highlights that are a little distracting (the one in the upper right, behind the squirrel especially)

Agreed - I think the bokeh is a little distracting, as opposed to giving a subtle highlight to the subject.

However the squirrel is very sharp and the composition lends itself very well to the capture.

Imo, just goes to prove you don't need L glass to take a good pic
possibly the cheapest zoom lens you can buy from canon, at the long end too
