There seems to be a bit of camera shake going on there.... you have used 1/40th which is difficult to handhold... let alone if he moves a tad.

if theres not enough light... use a dash of flash!!

yeah i know the lens is not right for the camera really, and he was walking at the time and so was i!!!

as janice has already said ..:bonk: needs a faster shutter or flash

you could always set a nice shot like this up..

would be worth giving it ago ..it is always niceto get shots out and about...

Camera shake isn't the (only) issue, focus is. You've focused on the grass just behind your boy, rather than his eyes.
Also, your aperture is f1... Not going to get much in focus that wide. I've never used a Sony so not sure what the aperture range is on that lens but sure you could have increased it a little and upped the ISO to compensate.

like i said the lens is not really right for the camera. its an old minolta one that i had from old camera some years back. it fits but only works in manual mode(not really a problem) but you can only alter shutter speed as f is locked on 1. am only really using it for practice until i can afford to get a new one
