Framing things differently to turn a standard shot of the local park in to something a little different.

Two different focusing options. I think I prefer the first.


Z6, 50mm 1.8G @ f/9 for both.

For me, you needed a larger aperture to really blur the OOF areas, especially the first. Good ideas, but not quite working *for me*.

Thanks for the feedback. I should have tried various apertures to see what worked best, but I was rushing to keep up with the family. In the first I wanted the background to be really sharp and the railing was closer than the camera can focus. But really I was already in f9 and forgot about it :facepalm:
 
I would like the first one cropped to square format, just including the top and bottom rail the ring is welded on to, then the same amount each side.
I find the area either side and outside the ring distracts.
 
I don't know what kind of system you processed them on, but they look much better on my phone screen than on a calibrated laptop screen.
 
For me it would work better if there was a subject within the circle.
