Online banking warning!

Page 13 if you Google Trusteer Rapport ;)

Clearly these chaps are serious about their product and reputation

I wonder what the position is on all this. If you use online banking as intended by the bank, typing the url yourself each time, surely you are not liable for any unauthorised use.

If the bank is robbed, you wouldn't expect your money to be at risk.

But we all have to make our own decisions on this.

um how on earth?
indeed :| not sure how something that runs within the browser environment can do that. unless it puts an explorer hook in first, then the browser hooked toolbar references that ?

Hey,

Stumbled across this thread and thought I'd add my two pennies worth. My brother-in-law nearly had some money pinched straight out of his account a while back. His wife recieved a bogus email from what she thought was the bank and when she clicked on the link the software stopped/ alerted her. A lot of hassle, pain and embarrassment was saved!

I think we all need as much protection as we can get and I've been a believer ever since - besides it works well and its free.

That's ok until you mistype it a second or more times and find yourself locked out! Can be sorted with a phone call, but a hassle never the less.

I once got given a foreign coin in change. I never use cash anymore :D
