Just wondering who uses what Co for printing online.

Not wanting to sell any images yet, just some nice prints i've done for friends and family. nice to see an outcome from your work.

I tried snapfish but the red's and green were totally satrurated and the dark area's, where there was detail on screen, came pure black.
They must saturate images automatically.
Am i right ?

who do you use ? and why might be nice.

DSColourlabs have always been good to me, great quality prints, fast turnaround and only costs slightly more than the likes of photobox. Loxley are often said to be the best but are much more expensive.

By the way, if the prints you get back do not look the same as on screen you may find that you need to calibrate your monitor. If there is lost detail in the shadows your monitor is probably set to too high a brightness level.

Alternatively it could be that Snapfish has optimised your photo, I haven't used the company personally so I can't say whether or not they do this, I'm sure someone else will pitch in...

I used snapfish a couple of times and each time I wasn't impressed, the prints were awful.

I know they sometimes get a bashing on TP but for everyday family snaps I use Jessops and have always been happy with the resulting prints

Thanks guys,
that bring up a good point though, i use a lappy, and it's pretty crap as the way you tilt the monitor affects the colours and contrast, wish i had got a propper PC instead now.

for now i'll have to get used to what i have to do to get results i'm happy with but in the long term, obviously a new pc is in order.
