Yes
I was at the London Camera Exchange on Saturday looking for a battery grip (which incedently is absolutely fantastic!), and ended up playing with a D300  Now I know I'm a Canon man, always thought I would be, but given a couple of grand and I'd turn to the dark side...

A D300 with the 17-55mm f2.8, what a peice of kit :D There's a button for everything, perfectly balanced, lens built like an artillery shell, even the shutter sound is awesome (apparently with a grip this thing does 6/7 FPS??).

Thanks for that, a bit of group therapy was required to rid me of the guilt.

i can see you wilting

it also gives you access to the older nikon [superb] lenses

go on you know it makes sense

 Filth!

Now go and get your hands on a Nikon 80-400 VR, and compare it to the Canon 100-400 L IS. You'll see the light again in no time... ;)

Then look at a 70-200vr and you`re back with us again.........

On the other hand, my local shop had the EF800mm f5.6 lens in it's window. That was big...

As Gray's of Westminster maintain, canon make some very good gear.

Photocopiers, Scanners, Printers......

Which is better then Nikon, who make none :D

Nope. Nice though it is, I think the Canon equivalent is nicer. It feels more balanced, and better built.

(You could bludgeon someone to death with some of the pro quality telephotos that both Nikon and Canon make, but the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS feels like you could bludgeon someone to death and then carry on using it normally.)

Now if you'd mentioned the Nikon 14-24 ....
