you cant afford a d90/d300s but your now looking at a £3300 lens

Y'know, I just realised that as I looked at the price tag! Though lets face it, Nikon haven't done one like that:naughty:

Nikon have the 200 F2 ;)

I think buttkicker has, or had, one of these. :)

Oh never realised. Right, I'm going back to Nikon now, I'll give buttkicker a ring.:D

"Dribble dribble" is just about right. This lens is absolutely sensational.

[spam]If you want to use one from time to time, without having to find £3000, I know a way...[/spam]

a nice bit of glass for sure, but it seems a bit expensive to me... the price of these used has dipped a bit since Canon released the 200 f2 IS.

It's brand new though I think, pretty rare. Don't think Canon even service it anymore though.

how much to rent that beast out???

That's extremely cheap! Also, thanks for the website, I'll have to bookmark that :D

I'm waiting for the AFS 400mm f1.4 that Nikon are releasing 1/4/10. They are doing it as a kit lens.

A mental buy IMO. It's not serviced anymore by Canon and the 200/2 IS beats it all ends up.
Thing is though, it's difficult to avoid the suspicion that Canon are taking the p*** with regard to pricing on this lens.

Nikon AF-S 200mm f/2 G IF-ED VR - widely available for under £3,200

Canon EF 200mm f/2 L IS USM - £4700 or more

This is by far the biggest discrepancy between Canon's and Nikon's prices for lenses with similar specifications.
