Rog (Venomator) popped round this morning to deliver a little something I bought from him last night.

Oh my, what a lovely little bit of kit but I've now got to go out and get a memory card.

Oh, and everything you have read about Ven liking all things green is absolutely true, green car, green tee shirt, green watch face, green compact camera in a green case, I bet his undies are green as well. It was a pleasure to finally meet you Rog.

I've just the LX3 (which is virtually the same) from Digital Depot (thanks Stuart ), and have got to agree, they are a real nice bit of kit.

I can see mine being used loads, as it just feels 'right'.

I've just RTFM and I now have a better idea of what to do but the lack of viewfinder will take some getting used to . I had a quick play using the manual focus setting and whilst it is a bit fiddly I am sure I could get used to it. The colours out of the camera are much better than I expected, I set this one up in the kitchen to see how it would cope with the tonal range and it was no problem at all, this was shot at ISO80, f/2, 1/13th and 5.1mm shrug. Focusing was on the writing at the front of the lens.

For a compact camera I am more than happy with the results so far.
