hello has anyone used this adaptor,i have an op/tech strap and i would appreciate any feedback on this.many thanks in advance.

Have you seen the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3x_-ad6fIs ?

I orderd one ten days ago, from Wokingham Photographic, and I'm still awaiting delivery. I don't know if it will be any good, but it's way cheaper than an R-Strap and I like the idea of keeping the tripod socket free for tripody things.

The OpTech sling strap conversion misses the point IMHO. The camera needs to hang upsidedown, and the connector needs to be away from the top of the camera.

Hanging upsidedown, with the R-Strap and other designs using the tripod socket, the angle between the camera and lens nestles against your hip/waist, making it less prone to swinging about. The connection to the camera is shorter, holding it closer to your body and so less swinging about from that too. It is immediately to hand with the grip pointing outwards. When raised to eye level, the strap hangs underneath, completely out of the way, and since the bottom of the camera is nearest to the strap on your chest when in the shooting position, you don't have to pull it away from you, or have to have it sufficiently loose so you are able to do that. In the vertical/portrait position, the OpTech really gets in the way - it's stretched across the back of the camera where it's just a damn nuisance and you end up with a bundle of plastic clips stuck up your nose. They just haven't thought about it properly (or even at all, it seems)

I have both regular OpTech and R-Strap attachment points on my camera, and use them both at different times. I actually have the R-Strap clipped to a lug on the end of a Markins L-bracket so I have full tripod access at all times :D It's here https://www.photoproshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/1005?osCsid=rnvgjsin5dt3plq206vvv23ie2 I think a few Arca-style camera plates also have a similar lug fitted.

Edit: you notice that in the OpTech video Tim linked to, they don't actually show the stap being used at all. Unlike the R-Strap videos, where that's what they show mostly.
