How accurate is Iexif at telling the shutter count as I have a Nikon D3000 and it shows me the number of pictures taken is 123 the camera was purchased with under 100 pictures I have taken the rest is there any inaccuracies in this software.

Thank You, :)

I use the same application it seem to work very well- and it saves numerous questions on any image posted, like what shutter speed- aperture & focal length etc etc

The software is merely telling you what the camera has recorded in the EXIF data in the image file. So it's hard to see how that can be inaccurate.

consistent answers I like :) Thank you......

I'm not sure it's that easy, wait for some more replies.

Extracting the number of clicks is usually a job for custom software. The EXIF is reading the file number on the card which, depending on the card and the way the camera is configured for file numbering, may not be the same thing at all.

I'm sure someone will confirm one way or another.

The exif on my Nikon includes a consecutive shutter count from day 1, this doesn't just use the file numbering but an internal counter which seems to be accurate as far as I can tell.
