Opening a flickr account

Hi all,

Thought I'd check I'm not being dumb.

I want to upload some pics onto here so thought it's about time I got a flickr account as that seems to be what most folks use. I went to the open account page and the only ways to open one are either with a yahoo, facebook or google account. Now I don't really want another email address and I do have a facebook account so i thought i'd use that, but when the allow access screen appeared it wants access to basically everything that I have on facebook!

Has anyone else created an account this way? If so is there any adverse effects like posting unwanted items on your wall etc?

Yup, have to do it through one of those. I did it and accepted that I'd need to set up a Yahoo e-mail, then just made my normal e-mail my flickr default mail. Never used the Yahoo one, and can't remember what it is, but my flickr account works quite normally.

I see, so you don't need to use the yahoo or google email for flickr once it's set, that bit of information I couldn't find in the help sections on flickr. Right, off to set up a yahoo id thing. I think that is a better option than giving flickr access to everything on facebook!

I did open a yahoo account to get a Flickr mail. I don't really use the yahoo mail other than logging on to Flickr wit it.

Thats what I did except I always forget my email to login with.

Flickr account now opened, so I can now amaze you all my lack of skills with a camera!
