Opening a .zip on a Mac?

I thought Macs opened Zips natively?

Pretty sure my Eee running 10.4 does!
 
This one isn't opening?
I will try a different download in case it is a corrupt file.

If it's encrypted, Mac OS X's built-in BOM Archiver/Archive Utility won't unzip it (though I think there should be an error message).

Get Stuffit Expander, it handles just about anything you throw at it, and it's free.

[tip: it will still let you download even if you don't supply an email address]

edit: if you received the ZIP file as an email attachment, drag it out of the email onto the Desktop or somewhere else before opening it. Otherwise it expands into Mail's Temporary Items folder, which you can get to, but it's less convenient than having the unzipped file somewhere else.
