The latest Opera v10 has a new Turbo function which allegedly helps pages download quicker when your internet connection slows down. I've had it enabled for a few days and not given it a thought.
I was just looking at some pictures here that were appallingly blocky with jpg artifacts. Checking the file sizes they were no more than 20kb, and one was 5kb. I was about to knock out a reply suggesting they increase the file sizes considerably but something made me have a look at some more threads. They too were the same, and so were my own posts. Then I thought of the turbo function, disabled it and reloaded. All was well.
So, Opera users, before embarrassing yourselves by criticising blocky pictures as I nearly did, check that turbo function.
