opinion on this flashgun

I tried the Nikon version. Didn't like it. It was fine for its price I guess.

I found the menu not to be the easiest and I didn't like the dial which isn't really one. It just looks like one.

The killer for me was that it under exposed a fraction.

So I returned it for a Yongnuo. To the company's credit they did refund promptly but I had to return it to Madrid.

I recently tried a Triopo which is almost identical to the Gloxy. I really like that and it was even cheaper.
 
If you are looking for a cheap third party flash, Yongnuo or Nissin are the leaders in this area. Never heard of that one.
 
I've got a couple of Nissin Di866's, one MkI and one MkII. There's not a lot of difference in the two of them, just the hotshoe plate is better on the MkII. I've also got a Canon 580EX II and TBH I can't say the Canon is worth the extra £130 over the Nissin's. Both the Nissin's were around £200 new but you can get a second hand one for around £130-150. I had the Canon as a wireless master and the 2 Nissin's as off camera flash and it worked out fantastic.

I've not heard of the Gloxy before but you never know how they're going to perform until you try. I've had 3rd party flashes that claim to be TTL but only the Nissin's have worked as well as the Canon.
