Optech dual harness

Link is to Optech, not Opteka. Optech really haven't got the hang of these sling type affairs. The camera needs to be attached upsidedown to get the straps out of the way. Go Black Rapid.

Are you talking from experience hoppy or just opinion? The black rapid does look good but it's considerably pricier

Experience Joe, but you can see what the problem is. I'm not the only one to think that.

You really need to try a Black Rapid, because the concept seems quite alien, but when you do, you'll understand immediately why it works so well.

There are lots of long threads on this, and there are several cheaper alternatives to BR about. They look pretty much as good to me.
 
Got one for safari in april
Used it with 2 bodies with 100-400 and 70-200 worked very well :)
been using ever since with one body and bins:)

how did you avoid the straps getting in your face?
 
Another happy user of the Op/Tech dual harness.

Usually just have 1 body on it, works just as well as with 2.

Great at eliminating neck ache from a traditional style strap (even compared to the Op/Tech standard strap, which I also have).

Occasionally when holding the camera rotated the strap gets in the way as you lift it to your eye - easy to flick it out of the way with your thumb, so not an issue.
 
Dom Bower really didn't have a clue how to use the Black Rapid. He set it up wrong and was finding problems I've never encountered in the seven months I've had my DR-2 double strap (He was using the DR-1, which is bulkier). I haven't shot weddings with the setup but have been on long days out on TP meets in London, shooting wildlife and motorsports or wandering round a day long military show and found it to be a good solution. Typically I'll have a 1D3 and long zoom on one side and a 5D2 and short zoom on the other. The design of the system means flashes can be left attached to both cameras without a fuss. I have shot weddings in the past, before buying the DR-2, and for me the DR-2 would be a no-brainer for a two camera setup if I were to shoot a wedding in the future.

I also have a Cotton Carrier vest and holster, which on occasion might be the better option, but for a wedding I'd go Black Rapid.

Here's me wearing the DR-2 and the Cotton Carrier vest (just for kicks)....

The straps do get in the way sometimes but its not really a problem:)
I have seen people using a 2 camera harness that attaches to the tripod mount
Did not like the look of it as the metal clip looked like it could break or come ondone
Dont know what make it was tho the Black rapid is probably perfectly fine
The Op/Tech straps are secured to the camera strap rings and are very secure :clap:
 
Black Rapid has a replacement fastener that works with Manfrotto RC2 plates, so for many people (like me) there is no need to compromise on tripod QR convenience when using the Black Rapid system.

I have three of them. :)

I know some people will risk the original Manfrotto D-ring with a Black Rapid strap, but there's no way I'd ever take that chance. It's not designed for that job and could pop off with heavier gear or rough handling. It's been known.
