Yes
I've got an Optech starp for my EOS 40D but rubber ? connectors to the camera haven't softened as much as I thought and stick out at odd angles , which annoys me meaning I have to fiddle with them each time I take the camera out of my bag.

Will they become more flexible over time or is this something I'll have to get used to ?

TIA

Andrew

Not sure what to suggest.

I have These ones and have no problems.

Yep. That's the way I went.
I've had an OpTech strap since film days on an EOS body.
When I transferred it to my 1D, I found as the OP did. The lug attachments have a will of their own and get in your way.
Changed over to the Pro Loop ends - bingo - problem solved. :D

Yes, the Optech Pro strap is the one to have. Much nicer. I have one on my D700. I must say that the fact that it has 'snap-lock' connectors in it, which could in theory come apart in use did purturb me somewhat, but they seem very robust, and I've never had them come open on me. They are sometimes useful when I can't manage to cram the camera with strap attached into my Toploader case - I can just detach the bulky shoulder strap.

How strange, I have exactly the same kit myself (D700, Toploader and Optech Pro) and had come here to post pretty much the same comments that you added, SLRist :D.

All I can add is that the "bootlace" connectors seem to be pretty resistant to wear as well, even though they do tend to get twisted up a lot. I've been using mine a lot over the past 6 months and am really happy with it, so far :).

Thanks for that - glad it wasn't just me. Looks like I'll be ordering some pro loop ends
