Options for super telephoto - D700

Just moved from crop d7000 to full frame d700 and my 70/200 f2.8 isn't as long as I would like sometimes

I am looking for something >/equal to 300 - prime preferentially and I have no problems with it being manual focus.

Budget <£400

Primary use will be portraits and capturing conference speakers from backs of auditoriums. Budget <£400

My advice is go 2nd hand. Check out ffordes, camtech, mifsuds, park cameras, mpb photographic, the forums for suitable lenses.

I assume you would want a reasonably fast lens?

should of kept the D7000 and use that for tele stuff and the FF for other stuff.

+1 for a second cropped body, I use my D200 for wildlife and anything requiring a longer reach. D700 is a great camera and I hope you enjoy using it.
