Orchid in Vase

Long time since i posted anything here. Here's one I took last week. I got the idea from one of Richard Mapplethorpes photos. I hope this is in the correct place.

Love the toning, very nicely done, imo

This is a really pretty picture, it looks kind of classic and yet contemporary all at the same time, like something Id expect to see in Habitat.

I love the framing of the vase and orchid and the muted colours, the petals look a little soft to me - could be my eyes or screen though and the slight crease in the cloth(?) is a tiny tiny distraction.

Minor niggles on a very nice shot, as Glo says it has a classic look to it!

Thanks to you both for your feedback.

Darkstar I think the petels may look soft as they are thick paper flowers and after just looking at them on the side they don't show the detail that real flower has, although saying that the original does look sharper than this one. Then again maybe its my eyes.
