Just a quick question:
How are your photos organised on your computer?
do you keep all images or just the good ones?

mine is:

E:/Photography/Originals

/Photography/ Contains the images for my website and the border psd's
/Photography/Originals/ Contains the original jpgs and raw files

how are yours organised?

My own personal collection is stored like this:

D:/Photographs/Abstracts
D:/Photographs/Animals
D:/Photographs/Architecture
Etc., etc.

It is catalogued in LR the same way.

For any clients I have their images stored like this:

D:\Client name\2008\11\10
D:\Client name\2008\11\25
D:\Client name\2008\12\10
D:\Client name\2009\03\07
D:\Client name\2009\06\02
Etc., etc.

They are also catalogued in LR the same way.

They're all stored as DNG's and I only keep the images that are any good.

Mine are like this, name is the name of the event/day (e.g. yesterday it was London 27 06 09).

The RAWs have their own subfolder:
I:\Shared\Photos\Name\RAW\

The final edited files are then exported into the root folder:
I:\Shared\Photos\Name\

Web edits (resized, copyright notice and bordered) are then put in their own sub folder:
I:\Shared\Photos\Name\Web\

The same folder structure is mirrored to another drive and I backup to DVD roughly every month.

I can access these photos from anywhere on my network which is pretty good too.

I should probably start using the LR catalogue system.
