Outlook restricts hyperlinks

For email client I use Outlook 2011 and for browser I use Safari.
Up until a couple of days ago I could always open links in emails but over the last couple of days this has stopped - when I click on an email link (e.g. link to a TP thread) I get an error telling me that the restrictions on the laptop won't allow the action and to contact the Administrator!
My only browser is Safari and I've checked everywhere I know to make sure that the laptop knows this is the default but it doesn't change. I know there is a simple workaround because I've done it once before but I can't find the answer now ... anyone tell me how to overcome the problem :shrug:

sounds like a default browser may be missing, i think someone else asked about this the other day. try reseting your default browser to something else then back again.

if that doesn't work you might have to try regsvr32 urlmon.dll from the run dialogue.

if that doesn't work try re-registering all these DLLs

Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll
