Overcoming reset of Lumix TZ80

I have recently had to have my TZ80 repaired due to a lens cover issue. On return the camera has been fully reset so I have rebuilt my settings.

However there is one issue. The folder/frame count has been reset to the 'new' camera default of 100-0001. As I have quite a lot if pictures stored I would really like to reset the folder to 112 and the frame number to 501 (which gives the next picture that I take going forward will be P1120502.jpg.) I have searched around and found various advice onto how to reset the count to the default for a new camera of 100-0001, but I cannot find how to set it to a specific value.
I am technically literate being a retired Electronics and Communications Engineer, and have both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11 Home available to me on different machines.
Can anyone give me advice or instructions please?

A common aspect across many makers is that the camera will read the last file number from the last inserted/used memory card.

IIRC (with some manufacturers?) you can game the system by replacing the file on a freshly used card.

NB this presupposes that you have set for file numbering to not reset.

Thanks for that, but the TZ80 seems to work in reverse. If I put one picture on a SD card with the file address being P1120500.jpg the camera changes the address on the card to the next number in its own internal sequence - in my case P1000017.jpg. I am beginning to wonder if it is actually reading the EXIF information and using that is its base. I think I still have a working Canon Ixus 60 which IMSMC does not write EXIF into the file and see what that does! Oh, and the camera is set to NOT reset.

File numbering is the one and only thing I would fault with Panasonic/Lumix.

If you end up with the files from two different camera models in one folder, you can have the same file numbers.
I have an idea that some can have the sequence changed, or at least the first three numbers.

I have today talked at length to Panasonic Tech Support and the definitive answer to my query is no, you cannot reset the folder/frame counter once it has been set to default star.
However if the camera is to be downloaded into a PC directory and the frame/file number already exists in that directory the camera will save the new picture with (n) on the end of the file name where n will usually be 1 in most instances.

To wander off at a tangent can I ask a second question8
My wife has a Lumix FZ100 which she likes using. However when I bought it for her (used) there was no lens hood. It seems that the FZ100 was the replacement for the FZ38 and they are mechanically near identical.
Does anyone out there have a lens hood for either model such that they could measure the hood aperture to see if Panasonic can provide me with a suitable alternative?

TIA
