That's excellent, I particularly like the natural subdued tones and the position of the owl is perfect.

I've been out every night for the past 2 weeks (just got back tonight), and I'm lucky if I get a blur in a white sky! lol

around 8.45 as the sun was going down 1dx 600f4isl mkII 1.4tc mkIII 1/500sec f5.6 iso 800 Gitzo tripod with a Lensmaster RH-2 Gimbal

ok, that makes sense... by 8.45 last night, I was forced to be at 1/125, ISO 3200, and that was still producing about a -1.5ev picture :(
Time for me to dig deep I think!!
 
Beautiful shot and bird (y) I wouldn't have a clue why. but Barn owls are something we don't see round here
