hey guys what's the best place you have been to in or around Hertfordshire to go and photography owls?

preferably ones that are used to people being around as i have plenty of owls around my home town but as soon as they see me the fly off

As with a lot of bird photography, patience is the key, just wandering up to a bird is almost guranteed to make it fly off. Check where they hunt, sit quietly and wait for them to come to you. Inconspicuous clothing so you blend in with the surrounding foliage will help, a hat, and try and keep your face covered, no sudden movements.

Google Gloucester barn owl centre. They have photography days which are brilliant. You might find somewhere similar. How about the animal place on the a10 just past the m25

I don't just wander up to them I'm not stupid

Possibly a little blunt after some good advice Hayley, perhaps try a little more gratitude next time. :)

However, Gloucester and Vince are brilliant, been there myself, but if you want somewhere closer, I guess the BOP centre is still at Shuttleworth nr Biggleswade? You could check if they have owls and when they are doing demo flights to get some practice in.
