P.C re-new advise

I have been thinking it is time to replace my P.C as the current one is about 11yrs old and is getting very slow.
Switch it on and go and make a cup of tea, before it is ready and you can only run one program at a time really, before it starts making funny noises and nearly stops. :shake:

I have been looking at the following ones and hoping someone can advise on suitability. I want one which is quick for down loading pictures from the camera card and can processe photos quicky. Internet info processing needs to be quite quick, but dosn't need to be super fast as I do not do online games or download large volumes of data like movies (yet). Also trying to "future" myself a bit.

both have the Intell i5 processsor and decent ram, which I have seen recommened in other posts on the forum. option 2 looks favourable as it has the monitor in the "deal".

I think this one might be a bit of an overkill for my requirements.

I have very little knowledge of computor workings, :shrug: so these choices are based on what i have read here and on other forums. I have used links for reference and may not purchase from PC world.

11 years old! Seriously surprised it still works at all. If you do all you want on this now, then even the slowest modern box will go like blazes.
Buy a Sandisk card reader for speedy card clearing not a cheep no name one. Interweb speed will be down to your line speed and the other ends speed, not your computer.

Remember, EVERYTHING ELSE will need to be updated as well. Mice, monitors and keyboards (Included in deal), programmes and any other plug in accessory's you use (Wireless modems)? Option 2 seems great, go for it.

Personally i wouldnt touch anything by advent with a bargepole - or buy anything from pc world for that matter.

have a look at somewhere like pc specialist

id get over to novatech and look at their prebuilt machines, going to be much better built than advent or HP. remember their prices don't include OS.
