ok, just got myself a p7000 to play with, I can't seem to get the shutter speed to go above 1/2000th in manual mode.. any of you clever people have any idea why that is ??

Thanks
Roy.

It will go to 1/4000, but you need the lens at it its widest and aperture at f8. Speed will then go up from 1/2000 to 1/4000, but 1/2500 and 1/3200 are not available.

Dont know how to get the other speeds yet, but I am sure it is in the manual somewhere.

Cheers Allan and Alan, it's definitly got the other speeds there, I can see them on the selection scroll, just cant actually select them, I'll just have to read the manual:rules: Nikon has decided not to include a paper instruction book which is a bumma... its all on a disc!!!!..

I got the paper manual with mine, i was an "early adopter", bought on the day of release, so i suppose the premium price included the proper manual then!
Look on P64 for details on 1/4000th speed, I searched the online version and couldnt see any reference to 1/2500 or 1/3200, the two speeds that are greyed out when you manage to set it on 1/4000.

Thanks Allan, I'll have a look, keep hold of that paper one, its worth its weight in gold I recn!! ;)

You'll probably notice that flash sync is set to 1/30th, which is a bit of a pain sometimes, especially as I mostly use aperture priority. You will need to use S or M if you want to change the settings.
Great camera though, even better since the firmware update!
