Had a go last night at the paint jumping stuff.

This is my favourite from the session...Have to say this could get addictive...

Dancing Paint Landscape. Taken on Canon 50D with Canon 100mm F2.8 USM Macro Lens. ISO 100 1/250 F16. Flash from two Canon Speedlites, controlled by ST-E2. Triggered via HiViz multitrigger trigger.

It is fun. Had old newspaper around to catch the mess. Fortunately the speaker is only small (hence they don't fly that far) and the paint is washable.

Thanks all - Yes it is addictive, and Digitall I nicked the washer idea from some of your threads. Not managed the flowers like you've got mind.

Are there any threads or guides you followed to do this?

There are some threads by Digitall that I found on here. A google for dancing paint photography should find some to elsewhere.

It's really just kids paint with water on a balloon stretched over a speaker. I used a sine wave of 110 and volume 5, generated by a free program Multisine to make the paint "dance".

I have a sound trigger that fires the camera/flashes. However you can probably get some results by timing the shutter button press well.

No charge mate, I am just happy that people take the time to have a peek at my stuff.
You will find that wshers about the size of M5, M6ish work well as they are quite light and jump well.
