Hi, I want to try Painting by Light but not sure of the correct conditions.
Is it better with a full moon or no.
Better just before sunrise or sunset.
Thanks in advance
Russ.

theres a few different types of light panting, which type are you interested in

using a torch to illuminate say a car or building or other objects

Light painting with LEDs using a variety of tools, bike wheels, wands, torches etc making light paterns

swinging wire wool

I was wanting to try to light an old barn/house that I came across but there is also another question. What is the best candle power as I have seen torches from 1 million upto 10 million?

I've 'painted in light' before, but with film. Tripod, camera on bulb and using a flashgun.
With a bit of experimenting very acceptable results. I assume dslr is the same, probably more managable in post production.

Ah!!!! There is one slight problem with setting light to the barn, I live in Greece and we don't have that white stuff you have in the UK Mmmm ah yes SNOW so the area is very dry so I don't think the locals would be to happy if I burn down the barn possibly there houses not to mention the surrounding fields, Oh yes I don't smoke.
