Woohoo! Camera just arrived..... Z5 kit ordered last Tuesday night from Panamoz and arrived today, took less than a week. Meanwhile my lens from e-infinity was ordered at the same time and I've had no confirmation other than an initial email with an order number.

That's how I saw it. I saved best part of £1,000.00 on my last order - well worth the expected delay (that never happened).

My E-infinity order arrived today just under 2 weeks, just be patient. With E-infinity it all happenes in the last few days.

My D850 arrived yesterday morning, ordered on 1st March, so 8 days, but you have to take the weekend into that, so 6 working days, I'm more than happy with that, got to be honest I was expecting another week, so all good.

You'll love it. I can't wait to be able to get out and about again - there's only so much studio stuff I can cope with.
A tip - when using the Auto AF tune, make sure the focus point is dead-centre before trying it. I didn't and it took me about twenty minutes to figure out what I'd done wrong.

I placed an order with Panamoz yesterday and got an email from them this morning saying it was being sent by fedex which is a first I have ordered from them a lot and everything has been sent by TNT or UPS previously. Estimated delivery time is 2 weeks so will see how what happens.

Thanks for the tip, I've been using the D810 so a lot will be familiar, I got a copy of John Greengo,s D850 quick start guide, it's quite indepth, and it's a video tutorial, started watching it yesterday, it's about 5 hrs all in, so should be good, I've watched his stuff before and it's very comprehensive, so for £13 I thought it worth a punt.You'll love it. I can't wait to be able to get out and about again - there's only so much studio stuff I can cope with.

What is the attraction of buying from these off-shore companies. I just order a Sony Zoom lens from WEX who delivered in 2 days. Out of interest I just looked at the price on Panomoz and it cost £199 more than WEX!

Well look at something else they are usually significantly lower.
Also WEX often doesn't have things in stock e.g. Look at Sony A7Siii
£1000 less from Panamoz, Wex, not currently available.

I think theirs more savings on camera bodies and kits, e.g. Wex and Jessops charge £2500 for the D850 body, I got it from Panamoz for £1900 plus a 3 year transferable warranty, so there you have it a saving of £600, and I don't know of any UK company who gives a 3 year warranty, ok I had to wait a few days for delivery, but not a problem for me personally.

That can happen sometimes although it's very rare that the grey market companies are more expensive. 99% of the time they will be a lot cheaper. Just as an example for the Sony lens I ordered from Panamoz yesterday it was over £200 cheaper than WEX, they also provide a very good 3 year warranty, WEX just give the normal manufacturers warranty usually a year. Yeah it might take a bit longer for delivery but in general they are cheaper, warranty is better, and really good to deal with if something goes wrong, well Panamoz is anyway some of the others not so much.

I haven't actually got a proper chance with it yet, as I said only got it yesterday, so I've got it all to come yet, was going to go out tomorrow and have a play, but wet weather is forecast so we shall see [emoji2957]Me too, the only thing I've struggled with is getting used to the ISO and Mode buttons being swapped over.
This is my first time knowingly buying grey imports. Nikon z24-70 f4 £399 at e-infinity. £899 at Wex. That made it worth trying!

Panomoz was £945 but I paid £746 at WEX as I used the Photography Show discount. I do not consider buying a grey import worth the risk; I want to be sure that I am buying a genuine product, factory wrapped, stored and handle correctly and I want the manufacturers warranty etc. I would certainly not consider buying from E-INFINITY just to save £27.

Panamoz warranty is better than most uk based places. E-infinity is fine they'll either repair it or pay for you to repair it.

I wouldn't buy from E-infinity to save £27 either, but I saved nearly £800 buying my A9 from Panamoz and it was a genuine product, was factory wrapped and came with an extra years warranty....so what's the risk?
The only one I can see is IF Panamoz went out of business AND my camera broke down.
I'm not worried about either of those scenarios, and I'd be even less worried if it was a lens....

I ordered my Sony 200-600 on Sunday evening and this is what I received today along with the tracking number

I guess another grey thread that's turning into dissaray, I always have to laugh about this, I swear their are people who think, that grey imports are manufactured at secret sites throughout China and the far east, that are fake and hence so cheap, it's laughable really, as I'm sure if true, Canon, Nikon, Sony etc would have something to say about it. I have now purchased 3 Nikon cameras from Panamoz, each one I have registered on the Nikon website, saying where I purchased them and filling in the serial number from the camera, I would of thought if there was a problem I would of heard by now.
Whatever you buy from anywhere is a risk, a risk of a faulty item, a risk of the company you purchased it from going bust, a risk of something going wrong after 12 months, and the great UK company you purchased it from telling you sorry your 12 month warranty is finished, despite the fact their is something in law called "fit for purpose" but the great UK company chooses to ignore it, so you have to pay for a repair, it actually happened me a few years ago. So am I happy to buy overseas and wait a little longer, if I am going to get excellent customer service, and a great price, to right I'm happy.
Will Panamoz go bust, quite possibly, but so might Wex, Jessops, Curry's etc etc, you pay your money and take your chances.

The risk is that they stop operating.
Panamoz I have only heard good things about their warranty but e-infinity I have heard some horror stories. So I'd avoid the latter personally.

You have PayPal which IMO is probably easier to get refunds through than a credit card.

Erm... No.
Under section 75 if a company goes bust while your gear is still under warranty you can claim the money back from your credit card company.
Buying from abroad seems to be bit of a grey area and might not be covered under the same protection.
This doesn't just apply to cameras, basically anything inc. other electronics you buy on your credit card. Pretty much the main reason I use my credit card, I don't spend money on my credit card that I can't immediately pay back from my current account.
It's bit of a pain to make use of it since you have to fillin a bunch of paperwork send it back, wait forever etc. But it's a good protection to have and works better than PayPal which has no such protection.

Well ordered last Thursday and it was delivered today.
I have edited my original post as the camera eventually arrived, despite the Fedex system saying they had tried and no one was in (I was).
In the interim I contacted Panamoz who responded very quickly.
Their customer service is excellent.

E-infinity order arrived yesterday. It should have been the day before but Royal Mail messed up. So two weeks from order to arrival. They sent me a photo of the box once they had sourced it, then tracking details for Royal Mail including a photo of the label, so communication was pretty good after an initial delay.

A7Siii ordered Wednesday 17th arrived today Monday 22nd, tracking was interesting it left the store on 18th, was at Kow Loon on 19th then at Castle Donnington (east Mids airport?) by Sunday, having passed through UAE and Frankfurt.
The only niggle was final stage when UPS can't/won't give an hour window at least not if you don't create an account involving texts to mobile - which is no use here with no signal.
He didn't need a signature though I think he would have left it but I saw the van coming and caught him.
