Yes
There are two models of the above lens on the market. The f4-5.8 and the f4-5.6.

Some of the latter are marked as MkII on websites but others not, yet the f rating is 4-5.6.

I've always assumed the 4-5.8 is the older model and ALL 4-5.6 are the MkII even if the markings are different on some which I assumed to be because of kit or boxed versions.

Am I safe in assuming the 4-5.6 is the MKII ?

I don't know the difference between the two but I wouldn't necessarily make that assumption, manufacturers seem a bit less concerned about max f# since AF units got better and ISO performance has improved.

Often with Panny lenses you can tell by the paint job.

The first version is 14-140 f4-5.8 https://www.ephotozine.com/equipment/item/panasonic-lumix-g-vario-hd-14-140mm-f-4-0-5-8-asph-1190

The later version is 14-140 f3.5-5.6 https://www.ephotozine.com/equipment/item/panasonic-lumix-g-vario-14-140mm-f-3-5-5-6-asph--hd-5160

The main visual difference is the filter size. The earlier and heavier lens is 62mm the later and smaller lens is 58mm.

If you go to the page for the later lens and click images there is some side by side shots to show the size difference.

Thanks guys. I'm happy recognising the difference now. As you all point out there are a few clues, filter size, f5.6 and paint job. Apart from that how DO you tell the difference :LOL::LOL:

Thanks again....

I have the MK2 version and find for the focal length it's quite compact and light. Use it on a Panasonic G7 and it feels well balanced.

I'm expecting delivery of a nearly new, kit lens 14-140 from MPB today... only £309 and marked as "Good as new". Looking forward to trying it out as it looks good on the E-M10 when I've seen it.
