Panasonic FZ18 filters????

Been wanting to experiment a little more so I have been looking at different filters.

I dont have a DSLR but a Panasonic Lumix FZ18 (Ultra zoom digital camera) and so Im stuck with the 'fixed' lens

Now I 'think' I require 46mm filters but can anyone confirm this for me? Im assuming this is the diameter of the inner lens part when extended.
 
the lens cap should also state the diameter. i think you can get an adapter ring, which will step up the thread to 58mm which is a more standard. Although the adapter is does restrict the view slightly and shots have to be taken from 3x onwards.
 
I have a FZ-18.
It is a 46mm thread and filter are available through ebay.
I have a skylight and polarising filter. I've only noticed an issue once at wide angle with the polariser, as it's a little deeper.
 
Thanks for the info, Gonna get some ordered just to try and have a play with
