I would love a macro lens for my m43 system, but the price is a tad too high for a native lens. Tried an adaptor with my 90mm Tamron but the results weren't good... Could be my technique though. Has anyone used the Panny 45mm f2.8?
What are others using?
I was hoping for an AF lens but I suppose I'll think about manual so anything via an adapter could be a possibility. Before thinking about the 45mm I was thinking about something in the region of 150mm FF equiv. as I use a 150mm on my 5D.
Ideas anyone?

I was thinking of something a little longer than 45mm but as far as I can see that's the only MFT macro? If going for a legacy lens I'd want to get something reasonably compact and more in keeping with the camera body size. Bit stuck at the mo so I'll have to have a Google.

Do you think Canon will have a Micro 4 thirds this year?
This thread seems to have dried up a little. Where is all the talk of the upcoming rumoured Panasonic G5 to be announced soon?
Do you think Canon will have a Micro 4 thirds this year?
I am quite interested to see if a Canon model arrives though.
I'm sure Canon will do a CSC but I'm not too sure that it's going to blow MFT out of the water
but Canon's marketing pull may be a threat.
The only company really able to compete with Canon is Nikon, and they don't have a product in this market (yet).
.
I omitted the J1/V1 as I see it as a souped up compact sensor and not really comparable with the 2x or larger sensors. Just my opinion of course, and I do think we will still see a proper CSC from Nikon with a larger sensor in the near future, especially if Canon launch a 1.8x or 2x CSC.Isn't that the J1/V1 series? Surely those are Nikon's competing products and CSC/M43rds equivalent effort?
As I haven't contributed much to this thread recently... Flowers!!!

I grabbed these between downpours.
I've been itching to buy something new...
I fancy the Fuji X Pro 1 but reports of poor AF/MF and bugs put me off and my local Jessops doesn't stock them so I haven't been able to try one yet. I sort of fancy a Nex 7 but the lens choice puts me off  I switched my attention to the OMD but I spotted that the lowest ISO is 200 and as I'm a wide aperture fan that'll possibly mean using ND's more plus there's no inbuilt flash and I'd miss my G1's fully adjustable screen. I think I'll wait and see what the GH3's spec looks like.

What lens did you use
Found some Jags on a test day, old and new so tried panning with the G3 and fish eye! This is me stood with my toes in the road as they flash past at 30-40mph getting dizzy with the spinning....
There's one in the classifieds but looks a little pricey given the Tesco offer of not long ago (that I bought mine thru). Still loving mine and have no compunction to upgrade to a G3... The G5 would have to be literally a quantum leap to persuade me too!
Yep, I'd go with that... Unless the body costs more than, say, a D7K. Even then tho I could potentially be tempted...woof woof said:The only complaints I have are that the higher ISO peformance could be better and the DR is rather limited. If the GH3 has the DR and general IQ of the Oly OMD I could be rather tempted.
Because it's pig ugly and costs a grand?ronnus said:some reason the OMD leaves me very cold.

but if I was launching a new system I'd go with a standard and a tele zoom, 28-70 and 70-200/300 equiv, and a set of maybe four primes, a wide, something like 24/28mm, a standard 50mm equiv, a 85mm and lastly a macro 50/90mm.
