Panasonic G3 Vitaliy hack public beta released

It looks like the Public beta of the Panasonic G3 hack has finally been released. A lot of people have been waiting for this to bring manual video features and increased bit rate to the G3.
Is anyone thinking of trying it out?

Interesting... Nice to see people hacking these things (I don't do much video so won't be trying it).

Also nice to see some threads outside of the huge G series thread

Sure.
Yeah this guy hacked the GH2 and brought the additional controls and very high bit rates to the masses. Interestingly, the hacks did work for a while on the G2, although newer firmware version 1.1 cameras - after sometime in 2011 I believe - stopped working with it or became hit and miss/unreliable.
Some of the videos on vimeo of high bitrate footage is incredible for such a low cost m43rds camera. With legacy glass and some creativity with DOF, some outstanding footage can be captured.
