Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 Filter Lenses & Adaptors

Hi All

Firstly i am new here, so apologies if this has already been asked.

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 and am looking into buying some Filter Lenses for Sunset, Water and Landscape effects; however i am confused as to if i need to purchase an adaptor.

The camera came with a lens hood adaptor and lens hood. Would i need to buy a Lens adaptor for additional lenses/filters?!

If someone who has the exact same camera can give me some knowledge - this would be great; but any help would be really appreciated.

I had one of those cameras last year - loved it, really good lens!

Anyway to use a filter, screw on the lens hood adapter (the small tube) and then you screw the filter onto that. The filter size for the adapter is ø52mm IIRC.

Filters I'd recommend would be a grad ND (darkens sky), ND (darkens complete exposure for taking long exposures in daylight), polariser (removing haze/increasing contrast and removing reflections in water/glass).
