Panasonic Lumix ZS3/TZ7 LCD screen replacement problem

Hi,

The LCD screen of my camera was broken, so I bought the item here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110825376323 and replaced it. Now the screen works, but does not display properly: Every time I turn it on, the screen is halved or the colors are incorrect. It gets normal when I jiggle the screen, but this happens when I turn the camera off and on again. Here is a video illustration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B44EV_DoID0

I suspect that the replacement LCD I bought is faulty, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Its probably either a faulty LCD/ribbon or a loose connection.

Thanks for your reply. I have just noticed that when I fully close the cover, the screen goes off: http://youtu.be/cK4M3KWS-w4

Now I strongly suspect a faulty ribbon. Could it be something else?

£12 does not seem much to pay for a new LCD screen to me, was it exactly the same as the one it has replaced ? if it is a non OEM replacement there may be slight differences in the tolerances causing a malfunction.

Well, the broken screen was an original one while this one is a generic replacement. This could be the answer, but I've read several comments on the Internet that these ones work too. Anyway, I'll try to replace the screen and see if this happens with another one.
