I've been asked by a friend to take a few shots of his 1 year old son for his passport as they couldn't get him to sit still in the booth.

Am I correct in saying it's got to be against a plain white background with the subject sitting facing the camera straight?

I checked photobox and they don't seem to print at the correct size for passport photos, does anyone know an online printer who does?

Cheers

Dave

I had a recent opportunity to click PP size photos of my now 5 month old [then 3 months] so I had to lay my child on the dining table against a white bedsheet and took a few.

When I contacted Snappy Snaps they said around 6 quid to print 4 pictures. I was lucky to have a local studio print 6 prints for 2 quid :D

Also, make sure that there is no shadow between the child's head and the bedsheet.

Good luck :)

Correct me if I am wrong, however is grey not the preferred colour now?

Grey too, but the proof is in the pudding so to say :D as the PP size photo I submitted for my child did get her a UK Passport under 2 weeks :)

ive seen passports done in max spielmann, all they use is two large pieces of grey card; the child will only cover the bottom one but the top one is for adults. its pretty clever. all you do then is go to you local lab and print them off at wallet size.

Thanks for the information, very useful!
