Pbase server still down.

It started with a comment "There was a power failure at our datacenter on the morning of 24-Sep-2009". my initial thoughts were have they not heard of UPS and back up generators ?

I have used pbase for a few years now. Overall I have been fairly happy with the service however I have noticed over the past few months that the site is slowing down quite considerably. I also use flickr but I prefer the format of Pbase.

Is there an alternative to Pbase i.e one that has similar functions?

I've been away fro a long weekend but noticed it was down. It's back now.

One comment I saw said they had to recover/restore the whole oracle database. That could be big with how many photo's they host.
