Hi guys,

I'm looking into upgrading my PC as its a bit of a relic and is in need of updating. I'm building it for Windows 7 and Photoshop CS5 so graphics are priority. Any advise on the following items please.

Motherboard bundle - AMD Quad Core Phenom II X4 850 - 4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 - AMD 760G - Onboard Radeon 3000 Graphics

Graphics card - Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6750 1024MB PCIe

Hard drive - Samsung Spin Point F3 SATAII 1TB 32MB Cache Hard Drive <8.9ms 7200rpm - OEM

Monitor - LG E2260V-PN Full HD WLED LCD 21.5" HDMI Monitor

I just need to choose a PSU and get some cables. Any advise on what wattage psu to go for?

regards
Mark.

PS5 doesn't use more than simple 2D graphics - I've run it very successfully on age old passive graphics cards (i.e. ones that were £30 3-4 years ago). The only reason I upgraded was I needed dual DVI out for dual monitors.

I'd spend more on a faster processor & more memory personally.

theres a decent looking bit of kit in the classifieds

Thanks guys, Ideally I want to buy new just for piece of mind and so I know the life expectancy and have a bit of comeback if it fails.

I kind of want to future proof this pc as well so that I don't need to upgrade again any time soon so I'm over buying on most things hence spending an extra few quid on most items. I don't know much about pc specs so I'm just hoping that I've not under spent on anything.

Motherboard bundle looks fine, you could look into overclocking it a little. You should be able to get 3.6 or 3.7 ghz without overheating. I'm running the Phenom Quad core 965 with 8 gb 1600mhz ram. The 1333 will be fine but you might want to go for an extra 4 gb as its quite cheap these days. As for the rest, it sounds as though it'll be more than capable than what you need to run PS5. You might also want to have a look at ebuyer.com as they have some great deals and reasonable prices, I use them a lot for my stuff.
