PC format question

Thanks again for all the comments. Theres at least one virus there called boot mebroot, but I suspect this isn't the one causing the problems(it seems it's not too harmfull or so i'm told) Also several other togs I know have it and it doesn't seem to be affecting thier systems very much, although Norton wont remove it.
At the moment it looks like I'm going to go for the new hard drive option in a few weeks (when I have a break planned) I might do a few other upgrades same time. Many thanks for all the help everybody. Wayne
 
For formatting a drive DBAN does a great job at securely erasing disks. (this includes boot sector)
