I am a mac user and have been for about 10 years now. These days macs will do everything that a PC does including run most the the microsoft office packages. I think the imac is much more user friendly.

Your software however will not work on mac you would have to purchase the mac versions of anything you wanted to use.

the only difference is the layout of the operating system so it is very much a personal prefernce point. might be worth getting down to pc world or something to try OSX and Windows 7.

otherwise both platforms have quirks, one is not head and shoulders over the other.

that aside i wouldnt really compare a laptop to a desktop/all in one, a desktop will always have the edge performance wise.

adobe will let you transfer your software licence from windows to mac.

definately go to pc-world / apple store / another users houseand have a play with a mac to see if you like it

I am a convert and have been for a good few years now ..... the only downside to Mac ownership is you start buying everyother apple product, from timecapsules to airport express's .... just because everyting works so easily with each other ..... costs me a near fortune
