PC or Mac (sorry) for school

We've got a house full of macs and I'm just about to buy a cheap PC/imac/emac for the children.
If I go down the mac route will it be OK for next year when our eldest starts primary, or do they use PC's?
Don't really want her to come home every evening and have to use my mac with Parallels.

So anyone with children at primary school?

Most primary and secondary tend to run Windows machines. Many still run XP too at the moment, as many schools were advised against vista.

most schools will still be using windows, you start to struggle to find XP machines now though. windows 7 is favourable and most schools should start upgrading soon.
