Both striking shots; but for me, critically, it's the second one; we have good eye contact with the animal and it's conveying the 'proud as a peacock' look. You'll probably have more people 'liking' the first shot though,

Thanks for the kind comments! A few more to come when I get around to completing the edit.

I'd welcome comments on the colour balancing (both technically and aesthetically) - haven't calibrated my monitor yet but that's on the radar. I seem to be getting a bit of a red/magenta cast.

Can't really identify a colour cast but to be very picky, I'd say that you could crop No 1 slightly to make the peacock's head dead central.
