Playing with my G11 - all taken with either a +8 or +4 Diopter close up lens, off camera cord, EX580 and Gary Fong Whale Tail...

The very close ones were taken with a Raynox DCR-250 which is a +8 dioptre achromatic close up filter (e.g. it has 3 lens elements in two groups and is corrected for 2 x colours and is a great bit of kit) which allows me to use my lens at 140mm and focus at around 12cm - these are all straight out the camera with minimal tweaking.
