Peli Case 1510?

Will a Peli Case 1510 ( with lenses inside) be OK to go in the aircraft hold as it is too heavy for hand luggage on Emirates (they weigh it)?

Anyone had any experience with this??

as long as the lenses arent rattling about (foam interior?) and the case is locked, i cant see why not.

Get some good insurance as you cant be sure it will reach its destination... some thieving git may have it.

I should imagine it will be fine as it is what they are designed for - just make sure everything is packed tightly and not going to rattle around too much. First time I flew into Jo'burg with Emirates, there was about 7 peli cases plus other hard cases on the baggage carrousel from a film crew. Just make sure your insurance is up to date, just in case!

As for it reaching its destination, I have never had a problem with Emirates loosing bags (20 flights with them in the past 6 years).

Use Peli dividers rather than foam - and the Peli locks are great too - it's what they're made for.
