Peli case alternative

Add to that the weights of those two samples (case only), Peli 1510 5.95 kilos, Storm 2500 5 kilos, so about 16% lighter in that case?

I've been looking at hard cases as my main store & transport case, not sure about it yet, but my digging through the thread search here came up with these :

and they do another variant on the hard case theme, by B&W, which appear to use slightly different sizing to peli and other peli clones, and the ones I've looked at seem cheaper, especially when you factor in the cost of padded dividers. B&W also do 3 photo specific models complete with bags, the type 80, 85 & 90.

their testing video is fun: http://www.outdoor-cases.com/show/B&W - Imagefilm-eng.wmv

You might want to read this thread before you buy a Peli or alternative http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=43116 the choice is yours, the five that were waiting to be repaired have now been picked up and we have another 7 awaiting collection after being damaged whilst on location:nono: most of the damage is nearly always to the wheels, handles or catches the actual cases themselves stand up to no end of abuse, it's just the extremeties that get damaged although I have known quite a few to leak despite being told they are waterproof, I've watched demo's live and seen the video's:clap: clever marketing.

That said as long as you are the sole user / handler I suspect they'll be OK for you, just don't introduce them to a baggage handler or courier, they seem to have to find out how indestructable thay really are

I have the Storm im2500 with foam and find it fantastic, you can get a lot of stuff in it with plenty of room for the padding as well.
