Pentacon Auto 1.8/50

How chuffed am I I placed a chance advert on our local freecycle group for any old unwanted slr lenses. I had a reply from a guy less than a mile up the road, who had a few 'bits and pieces' I was welcome to. I was handed an old camera bag with a Practika MTL3 with a few lenses, filters and other bits (which I have yet to sort through). Amongst the lenses was a Pentacon Auto 1.8 50 with M42 screw mount, coupled with a 3rd party AF confirm adapter it was hastilly attached to my 550D These are the initial results, completely straight out of the camera!

Great stuff! I love these old lenses and the Pentacon is a good walkaround lens. You just need to find a cheap Pentacon 135/2.8 preset and you'll be sorted! That preset has some astonishing bokeh...

I used photobucket to upload these shots so the quality is not 100%. Amongst the other lenses in the bag was a Prinzflex Mk2 28mm auto wide angle f2.8 which I am about to try out.
