Pentacon/Meyer 135 f2.8 lens

Just wondering anyone has one of this or used one that can give a little detail about its performances on digital sensor specifically its "characteristics" such as contrast, colour rendering etc.

The lens in question is the 15 blade version which I believe is "preset" variant.

Decent enough contrast, sharpness is good stopped down a little and lovely out of focus areas!

ive got a 300mm pentacon f4, with 19 blades or something, which is really good

and amazing to look down while using the iris

Haha yes tempted by both actually as they are relatively cheap

Would you recommend the glass mount converter from eBay or the non-optics one. Appreciate that the non optics one will not focus to infinity.

Are you using a Nikon? If so I wouldn't recommend m42 lenses due to the register distance problem. Rather, I would hunt down an old Nikkor 135/3.5, depending on your body.

theres adapt all 128mm or 135mm I forget which too, that'll work too

The Adaptall-2 135/2.5 is OK but shows purple fringing on digital Older t-mount 135/3.5 lenses with simpler designs are generally a safe bet (Soligor, Sankor etc.) and carry the bonus of being available for peanuts.

The original Nikkor 135/3.5 is reasonably priced though and has a Sonnar derivative schema I believe.

what you mean by register distance problem? its a manual focus also I think auto exposure would be dodgy...
